Breakfast like an Ottawaian
We skipped the touristsy Byward Market and took the word from a local and crashed the Murray Street, an institution where the Canadians love having their breakfast at!
Cute decor on the wall!
The intense flavour of the juicy pulled pork was best to eat with the cinnamon French toast. Love how the sunshine egg was cooked to perfection as the egg yolk was still runny!
Cast iron frittata, mushrooms, rabbit, mustard dressed Cookstown greens $15CAD
This dish surely worth for a try to anyone who hasn’t had rabbit meat before or rarely have it! The rabbit meat was really tender, the meat broke apart easily when we sank our teeth in. It was really yummy to have rabbit, egg yolk and potatoes all at one go!
In-house smoked corned beef and potato hash, fried eggs, bone marrow hollandaise $15CAD
The beef was way too stiff, leaving it hard for us to chew. The only thing good about this dish was the mashed potatoes… the fried egg was absolutely tasteless, and excuse me if I was wrong but I could not taste any hollandaise sauce nor bone marrow at all!
Overall, the food was quite delicious and filling. The interior of the restaurant was filled with cute piggies and deer head decor. I would recommend anyone to come here for a cosy date with your family or friends, and worked up the appetite for some red-meat frenzy(there was no vegetarian or chicken options for lunch)!
